Mary Washington Healthcare Regional Cancer Center: At the age of 17, Kyle Pfohl, wanted to do something in honor of his mother, Annette Pfohl, a seven-time breast cancer survivor since 2005. Kyle wanted to raise money for the treatment of cancer patients in the Fredericksburg community. Through a partnership with Mary Washington Hospital Foundation, Kyle’s vision was born.

The first Battling Cancer 5k Run/Walk was held on Father's Day in 2012 and has occurred annually with great success since then. Proceeds from the Battling Cancer 5k benefit the Mary Washington Healthcare Regional Cancer Center and support local cancer patient care. Donations are accepted throughout the year, and we invite you to support the Battling Cancer 5k.
