Important Race Details about the Battling Cancer 5k Run/Walk
Race Day is held annually on Father's Day at 8:00 AM
The Battling Cancer 5k Race starts and finishes at the Carl D. Silver Health Center/Moss Free Clinic’s parking lot near the Mary Washington Healthcare Regional Cancer Center (1301 Sam Perry Blvd. Fredericksburg, VA 22401).
This is a "Rain or Shine" event. No refunds will be issued.
Registration Fees

Deadlines
On-line registration closes on Thursday, June 18 at 8:00 PM.
Mail registrations must be received by Thursday, June 18.
In-person registration may be completed at VA Runner (1993 Carl D. Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) on Friday, June 19 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday, June 20 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Important information
To ensure runner safety, unregistered runners, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, the wearing of headphones, or running with dogs are prohibited on the course. Participants with strollers/joggers must start and remain in the back. Strollers/joggers pushing faster than 15 minute miles is not permitted.

Result Timing
Chip Timing using Chronotrack Bib Tags provided by Race Timing Unlimited. Gun and Chip times will be recorded. All awards are based on Gun Time.
We are recording and reporting start and finish times.
Runners not recording a start time will be assigned the gun time as a start time.

Course Instructions
The course within the small subdivision is not closed to traffic. One lane of Cowan Blvd, Hospital Drive and Care Way will be closed to traffic. When running on Cowan Blvd, stay to your right. But do not go out into traffic on your return from Central Park.
This is a road race. Any runner leaving the road will be short cutting the course and will be disqualified. Walkers may use the sidewalk on Cowan.
For safety, please follow course marshals' directions. For the safety of all, the use of head phones is discouraged and will not be permitted on Hosptial Drive and Care Way.
There are no porta pots on the course and a water station just before the turnaround near mile 1.7.
If you are unable to finish the race or need medical care, notify the nearest course marshal.
